Wingspan Arts Summer Conservatory 2018
for current 5th-11th graders
Wingspan Arts Summer Conservatory is a TUITION-FREE theatre conservatory. Using a variety of activities as well as classes taught by industry professionals, students learn the skills required to become accomplished actors, vocalists, and theatre artists. Serving all students from talented beginners to experienced professionals, Wingspan Arts Conservatory strikes a balance between fun and learning that keeps our students coming back year after year.
THE WINGSPAN PLAYERS: Musical Theatre
Incoming 6th-8th graders
5 weeks: July 2nd – August 4th (no programming on July 4)
9:00am – 4:00pm Mon-Thurs / 9:00am – 1:00pm Fridays
We believe that the best way for young artists to learn theatre is by combining class work alongside production experience; mornings of rehearsal are followed by afternoons full of acting, voice, dance and other performing arts classes.
In production: Students will rehearse and perform a full classic musical theatre production.
Performances: August 3rd – 4th, 2018
THE WINGSPAN ENSEMBLE: Theatre and Musical Theatre
Incoming 9th-12th graders
6 weeks: July 2nd – August 12th (no programming on July 4)
10:00am – 5:00pm Mon-Thurs / 10:00am – 1:00pm Fridays
The Wingspan Ensemble is a select group of high school students who love theatre and look forward to exploring more challenging work. Ensemble classes are more specialized and demanding than those offered to the Wingspan Players. The goal of the Ensemble is to enable our students to expand their range and find new depth in their work.
In production: Ensemble students focus on less frequently produced plays and musicals. Students are cast the first week in either the play or the musical, which the Directors decide.
Performances: August 9th – 12th, 2018
It is imperative for all students to be in attendance for the ENTIRE program, please do not apply if you have a vacation planned for any of the program dates.
