A Day with MAC

Some of the Cabaret Troupe students with Brett Kristofferson (Cab Troupe Musical Director), Lennie Watts (MAC Board President), and Kim Grogg (MAC Board Member and Wingspan Advisory Board Member)

This Saturday our Cabaret Troupe had the opportunity to participate in a Master Class with Lennie Watts at The Duplex. It was such a wonderful day! 9 of our students participated and each of them worked on a piece with Lennie, focusing on storytelling and performing in a Cabaret setting as opposed to a Musical Theatre setting. They all gained so much from the experience and Lennie was totally wowed by their performances and their professionalism–I was too (though I was less surprised as I see them be talented and professional all the time 😉 )!

The students also had the opportunity to audition in front of the MAC Board of Directors for this year’s MAC Scholarship. MAC generously sponsors one of our Cabaret Troupe students each year and that student also has the opportunity to perform at the MAC Awards in March. This year, they chose to honor Frank Auletti! We are so proud of Frank and can’t wait to attend the awards to cheer him on! A HUGE thank you to MAC once again for this amazing opportunity.

Here are some shots from the day. The lighting wasn’t ideal for photos so they aren’t the best, but you get the idea!
